Professional Background

John Nero is a Managing Director of Global Healthcare Services at Newmark Knight Frank, focusing on a variety of healthcare real estate engagements, including healthcare provider real estate portfolio monetizations, asset sales and financings, debt and equity placements and development advisory.

Mr. Nero joined the Global Healthcare Services team at Newmark Knight Frank in 2019, when he left Hammond Hanlon Camp, LLC as a director of the firm’s real estate group. While in this position, Mr. Nero focused on single-asset and portfolio monetizations, developer selections, private equity and debt placements, refinancings and mergers and acquisitions transactions. Mr. Nero has experience working with a wide range of client types, including healthcare systems, hospitals, REITs, and private real estate investment and development firms. His experience within healthcare real estate spans across a broad range of asset classes including medical office buildings, seniors housing and postacute care facilities, among others.

Prior to that, Mr. Nero spent five years with Morgan Keegan and Co., where he worked in the firm’s healthcare real estate investment banking group. Mr. Nero started his real estate career with Wells Fargo Bank, working as a Financial Analyst in the firm’s commercial real estate lending group.
